Big Brothers

For many nights, we snuggled in bed, listening to Mom and Dad pray for a baby. They prayed every night that God would bless them with a baby. Mommy would cry and we would just lay on her belly trying to make her feel better. Then, one day when Daddy was out of town their prayers were answered. We were the first to find out :)

I raced home from work on a Tuesday afternoon to take a pregnancy test. I prepared myself for the - sign that I was so used to seeing and when it was + I couldn't believe it. I always thought about how I would respond the day I found out and now this day had come I was all by myself and I didn't know what to do. So,  I put the boys in the car and drove to Wegman's to buy a test that actually said the word "pregnant". Why I didn't have this kind on hand, I have no idea. While @ Wegman's I picked up 2 T shirts size 3T and a few iron on materials at AC Moore.  Jeff was out of town until the following evening and I couldn't bear to tell him the news we'd been waiting to hear over the phone. The boys and I were snowed in Wednesday all day anxiously waiting for Jeff to come home. I drove to the doctor in the snow to confirm the pregnancy, I made the boys T shirts and signs for Jeff,  and then I stared and stared at the clock. I know the boys could tell I was anxious because they sat on the windowsill waiting for the sound of his car all day.  When he finally got home I sent the boys outside to meet him in their new T shirts.

Jeff took one look at the boys as they ran outside to meet him and then glanced at me. The smiles we exchanged will never be forgotten.

We came inside to celebrate

We drove through a blizzard to tell Mimi and Poppy Kruse and Nana and Poppy Bryant

Ridley & Cooper have noticed a lot of changes since this very snowy day in January. . .

*Mommy cleaned out Daddy's room. People keep bringing new toys and presents but apparently they aren't for us to chew or play with.
*She likes to eat pancakes any time of the day. Daddy makes fun of her "cravings". Mommy denies them and says that she's really hungry and all she's hungry for is pancakes.
* They keep trying to make us sleep @ the bottom of the bed but after they fall asleep we crawl back up to the top and snuggle.
*Mommy and Daddy pray for the baby every night but this time Mommy's tears and different.
* Every morning she tries on lots of clothes, leaving them on the bedroom floor complaining nothing fits and she can't find anything to wear.
*Last week Mommy had to go stay in the hospital for 3 days because she got so sick and dehydrated. Daddy was with her the whole time and we were very lonely here all by ourselves.

Obviously, I absolutely LOVE being a mama to these 2 crazy pups. My heart just can't imagine what being a real mama will feel like . . .

Here are a few pictures of the little peanut . . .

I'm kind of mad at myself for slacking on the whole fruit picture thing :( Oh well.

Aside from the recent hospital stay (due to severe mouth ulcers, dehydration & my throat swelling shut ) I've been feeling great. I have had severe canker sores the entire pregnancy and my doctor is concerned that I haven't been able to eat or drink enough for the baby. I am now on steroids and she is monitoring me closely.  We are hoping for no more sores!!!

Pizza for lunch

They should know better by now . . .
1. Don't leave empty pizza boxes on top of the trash can.
2. Don't leave the exercise ball out or we'll play with that too.

Halloween

Every year for Halloween Mommy makes it her mission to come up with the most creative Halloween costume for their annual Halloween party. Its quite a difficult task because Daddy usually refuses most of the ideas she comes up with. First, we were goiing to be the 3 Little Pigs and the big bad wolf but Daddy didn't want to wear a mask all night. Finally Mommy came up with Sesame Street! Cooper and I were Cookie Monster and Elmo, thanks to Nana - she made our costumes out of baby towels from Babies R Us.  When we weren't trying to bite the eyes off each other's costumes we were stealing food out of little Charlie Isler's hands at the party. . .

Here I am in the Pig costume (Mommy made me try it on in the car @ Sam's club to make sure it fit).

Obviously this wasn't my first choice. I liked my Cookie Monster costume much better. What kind of schnauzer wears pink anyway??

Here we are as Sesame Street!

Schnauzer slippers

Here is a picture of Mom's favorite Christmas gift this year.
I can't figure out why she keeps wearing these on her feet and why I can't find the squeaker when I chew them.

Tasty Books

l

Mommy leaves for work every morning @ 7:15, and every morning we howl @ 7:15 in attempt to convince her to stay home and play with us.  Every day, we jump on the  windowsill,  watch her pull out of the drive way,  and then sit there until the mailman comes. After we bark at the mailman we usually look for something to eat, chew, tear apart or destroy.  Every morning before work,  Mommy and Daddy puppy proof the house (basically walk around looking for things that we could get into). This morning Mommy put the chair infront of the bookshelf so we wouldn't chew the photo albums on the bottom shelf. I guess she didn't realize we could use the chair to get the books off the top shelf . . .
